Está previsto su lanzamiento al espacio a finales de este año 2011. Se situará en la posición orbital de 22º Oeste. Está dotado de 72 transpondedores en banda Ku y 52 en banda C con la misión de reemplazar al viejo NSS 7.

El satélite SES-4 llega a la base de lanzamiento de Baikonur

Satélite nº 50 de SES que se pondrá en órbita: 20º lanzamiento de ILS Proton para SES

LUXEMBURGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SES S.A. (Paris:SESG)(LuxX:SESG) ha anunciado que el satélite SES-4 ha llegado al Cosmódromo de Baikonur en Kazajstán, donde ha sido procesado para el lanzamiento a bordo del vehí­culo ILS Proton Breeze M de los International Launch Services (ILS). El satélite SES-4 ha sido diseñado y construido para SES por Space Systems/Loral (SS/L), proveedor lí­der de satélites comerciales. El lanzamiento está previsto para finales de diciembre.

Vale, ¿Cuando se lanza un satélite de estas caracterí­sticas, ya se sabe de antemano que señales se van a emitir, o es partir de su puesta en órbita que se entran a cocinar los contratos? Saludos.

En este caso si Arturi, porque este satelite será el reemplazante del NSS7, que esta a los 22ºW

Tiene un canal Reuters de noticias, tiene un Mux de Bolivia y algunas otras yerbas. Así­ que ya tiene clientela fija y seguramente sumarán algunas otras señales.

NO creo que mucho mas FTA.

Pero por lo que entiendo siempre estan pre-alquilados los servicios satelitales, que si el lanzamiento tiene exito... las señales entran a funcionar a modo prueba de manera inmediata.

Satellite Use:

Poised to be the largest satellite in the SES fleet, SES-4 at 338*east replacing NSS-7, will enhance what is already the largest neighborhood in the Atlantic. SES-4 will be a hybrid satellite featuring high powered C-band coverage and incremental global capacity which is ideal for video distribution, government and VSAT services. The satellite's Ku-band payload will provide enhanced coverage and capacity across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Western Africa and Latin America. SES-4 will bring a substantial increase in the total capacity available at 338* east. The state-of-the-art spacecraft has been specifically designed for its orbital location, with C-band beams serving the eastern hemisphere of Europe/Africa, full America's coverage as well as a global beam to support mobile and maritime customers. Four high powered regional Ku-band beams will provide service to Europe, the Middle East, West Africa, North America and South America with extensive cross-strapping between C- and Ku-band transponders providing enhanced connectivity.

Mission Profile:

The Proton M launch vehicle, utilizing a 5-burn Breeze M mission design, will lift off from Pad 39 at Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, with the SES-4 satellite on board. The first three stages of the Proton will use a standard ascent profile to place the orbital unit (Breeze M upper stage and the SES-4 satellite) into a sub-orbital trajectory. From this point in the mission, the Breeze M will perform planned mission maneuvers to advance the orbital unit first to a circular parking orbit, then to an intermediate orbit, followed by a transfer orbit, and finally to a geostationary transfer orbit. Separation of the SES-4 satellite is scheduled to occur approximately 9 hours, 12 minutes after liftoff.

Realmente, las fotos no tienen desperdicio. Parece ser que se lo pasan comiendo en la pag.4 hay dos fuentes con pavos en una de ellas tienen una cobertura que parece se les hubiera quemado en el horno

Mas que las fotos de un lanzamiento comercial, parecen las fotos de la previa de montar una palombo en el Radio Club...
Y a juzgar por la franela de "..adelantamo un dí­a.... no no posponemo 25 dí­a...!!" se me huele que hay cierta infiltración argenta en esa corpo. :ugeek:

Ja,ja,ja .Si se lanzara desde cualquier lugar de nuestros paí­s, hubiéramos dicho algo parecido, al menos : Tí­pico, estamos en Argentina.
